AA/23/AS/19/GE/ASL/UEPC - General Education Academic Program Review

Resolved: That the Senate Executive Committee ensures attention to the APR’s recommendations related to program leadership and governance (pages 8-9).

Rationale: By practice, the General Education Academic Program Review is reviewed and approved by the General Education Subcommittee, the Assessment of Student Learning Subcommittee, the University Educational Policies Committee, and by Academic Senate. As with all APRs, this document includes an overview of what has occurred since the prior review, including analysis of available data related to teaching and learning in the program, and recommendations to consider for program improvement.

Approval of this resolution places some responsibility upon faculty governance bodies to consider the recommendations, without requiring agreement with any of the recommendations or items for consideration at the time of approval. Consideration of changes to committee membership and/or charges, to the leadership of the GE program, or to program assessment, organization, and funding shall continue to follow established procedures for shared governance.
