AA/44/AS/77 - Adjunct Professor Appointments

Effective May 11, 1978


The Academic Senate passed the following resolution on April 20, 1978:

The position of adjunct professor is established to allow a department to receive the expertise of an individual recog- nized for noteworthy achievement. While the appointment may result in specific services rendered, the position should be seen as honorary and not as a substitute for visiting or part-time faculty appointments.

Procedure: The department shall recommend a candidate to the Vice-President for Academic Affairs who shall make the appointment after consultation with the Committee on Leaves and Awards.

Review History: Approved by the Academic Senate on April 20, 1978. Approved by President Walter Olson on May 11, 1978.

Academic Affairs Division has the primary responsibility for this policy.
