The Health Science major provides students with a broad-based curriculum to pursue a career in health leadership and administration. The health industry is the target industry in the United States and employs more than 13.5 million workers in a wide variety of areas. The Health Science degree will prepare students with a comprehensive understanding of community health, health program planning, health science research, health care systems, and health issues in a multicultural society. Students will participate in a concentration to develop in-depth knowledge and gain experience in the area of health leadership and administration
Students in the program will be prepared to provide advocacy, leadership and management in health care settings. This program is designed to articulate with community college programs in allied health to provide students the opportunity to complete a baccalaureate degree related to their select field. The Health Science degree provides appropriate undergraduate education to pursue graduate work in public health, social work, and health services administration.
The Health Science major with a concentration in Health Leadership and Administration will provide students with an interdisciplinary education that will support them in a wide range of middle management careers within the health field.
