BIOL 4500 - Quantitative Ecology(4 Units) A practical, hands-on introduction to experimental methods, population models, and ecological statistics used by conservation biologists and environmental scientists. Topics will include principles and procedures of experimental design, randomization tests, sampling methods, life tables, survival estimation, population and landscape models, capture-recapture, meta-analysis, spatial analysis, niche metrics, and community characterization.Prerequisites: BIOL 4680.(Lecture, 3 hours; laboratory, 3 hours)(Winter)
