CS 4840 - Computer Security and Cryptography

(3 Units) Study of techniques used to protect stored or communicated information against an adversary.  Discussion of basic system security, protocols for data integrity, secure storage and communication, and applications of cryptography.  Topics:  mathematical foundations, system security, data integrity, and cryptographic protocols.Prerequisites: CS 3050.(Lecture, 2 hours; laboratory, 2 hours)
