BIOL 4040 - Writing for Science and Life (WP)3 unit(s) Approaches to writing for biology majors. Activities and writing exercises to clarify professional goals, write an effective personal statement, read scientific articles, perform a literature review, write a review paper, complete afield research study, and write a technical report of research findings.
Satisfies upper-division writing proficiency requirement.
Prerequisites: Passing score on the Writing Proficiency Screen Test; ENGL 1001, ENGL 1002, or ENGL 1005; BIOL 3310 and BIOL 3350 with grades of C- or better; and junior standing, or consent of instructor.
Hours: (Lecture, 2 hour; laboratory, 3 hours)
