HIST 3920 - The History of the Modern Middle East3 unit(s) Course explores the history of the modern Middle East. Key themes include the integration of the Middle East into the modern world economy, the decline and breakup of the Ottoman Empire, the emergence of the nation-state system, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and US-Middle East relations.
Prerequisites: One year of college-level history or consent of instructor.
