CHEM 4110 - Applied Instrumental Methods(4 Units) The application of modern instrument methods to chemical analysis. Students will learn the strengths and weaknesses of various instrumental methods and how to interpret the data from such methods. Topics include nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectroscopy, infrared, Raman, visible, ultraviolet, and atomic absorption/emission spectroscopy, electrochemical techniques, and applications of chromatography.
Prerequisites: CHEM 2010, Chem 4400, and CHEM 4030 completed with grades of C- or higher.
Hours: (Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 3 hours)
