The Pre-Clinical Laboratory Science (Pre-CLS) Certificate provides the required prerequisite coursework for students for eligibility for the California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Trainee license and for admission to Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) post-baccalaureate programs.
The program is designed for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students preparing for entry into CLS training programs and related health professions.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete the Pre-Clinical Laboratory Science Certificate will be able to: -
Demonstrate proficiency in core concepts of biology, chemistry, and related laboratory sciences required for admission to Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) training programs. -
Apply fundamental laboratory techniques, safety practices, and analytical skills necessary for clinical and diagnostic laboratory work. -
Integrate prerequisite coursework to meet eligibility requirements for the California CLS Trainee license and for admission to Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) post-baccalaureate certificate programs. -
Articulate the role of the clinical laboratory in healthcare, demonstrating readiness to pursue advanced training in laboratory medicine or related health professions. Financial Aid Note:
