The Leadership Studies minor is an ideal complement for students in other fields who desire a practical study in leadership studies to their personal and professional development.

Requirements

To qualify for this academic minor, students must complete the required number of units with a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C).

(18-19 units minimum)

Select courses for the degree minor in leadership studies in consultation with and approval of the minor advisors.

1. Complete the following core courses.

(6-7 units)

LEAD 2500 - Leadership Development 3 unit(s)
MGT 3310 - Management Theory and Practice 3 unit(s) or
PSCI 3304 - Leadership for Public Service (WP) 4 unit(s)

2. Complete one course from each of the following areas.

Complete upper division coursework from each of the groups listed for the Bachelor of Science in Leadership Studies major as approved by the minor advisor:

One course from Leadership Development in the Leadership Studies B.S. , 3 units
One course from Professional Communication in the Leadership Studies B.S. , 3 units
One course from Organizational Dynamics or Social Relations/Culture in the Leadership Studies B.S. , 3 units
One course from the Elective courses or other course listed in the Leadership Studies B.S.

Note: No more than six units of CR-graded coursework in courses graded exclusively CR/NC may apply toward the minor. Students are reminded to check course descriptions, as enrollment may require completion of one or more prerequisites.
