The Online M.B.A. program at Stanislaus State is designed to meet the needs of busy working professionals and business executives who may not have the ability to travel to Turlock for our traditional M.B.A. program. These business professionals may have a significant daily commute, may have a nontraditional work schedule, or may travel during a portion of their work week. The Online M.B.A. program makes it convenient for business professionals to study and advance their professional qualifications, while at the same time having considerable flexibility regarding when and how they complete their M.B.A. degree. An Online M.B.A. from Stanislaus State means the ability to pursue a graduate education while remaining in your current job and also meeting family responsibilities.
Program Learning Goals and Objectives:
- Students will have the advanced knowledge of the business disciplines and apply the knowledge in new and unfamiliar circumstances. Objective: Students will demonstrate advanced understanding of each business discipline (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, and Operations Management).
- Students will demonstrate advanced communication skills. Objective 2a: Students will effectively present business analyses and recommendations through written forms of communication. Objective 2b: Students will effectively present business analyses and recommendations through oral forms of communication.
- Students will be able to identify and critically analyze complex managerial challenges and opportunities and innovatively solve business problems. Objective: Students will analyze complex business situations and develop and implement innovative solutions to the business problems.
- Students will be able to work collaboratively with others in group projects, in an organizational setting. Objective: Students will effectively participate and contribute in a team-based environment.
- Students will be aware of various moral philosophies toward ethical business issues. Objective: Students will recognize and analyze ethical problems in business settings and choose and defend their solutions.
- Students will be able to identify and articulate the risks and opportunities for all stakeholders in a global market. Objective: Students will effectively analyze management issues from a global perspective.
Admission to the Program
Qualified applicants holding a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university may be admitted to the program. Each applicant must submit the following to the Graduate School:
- A fully completed California State University Graduate Application for Admission form, submitted online at www.CalState.edu/Apply. A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required in the last 60 semester units attempted, or 90 quarter units attempted.
- One copy of official transcripts from each college attended other than Stanislaus State, submitted to the Graduate School in MSR 120.
Each applicant also must submit the following to the MBA Program Director, College of Business Administration:
- A completed MBA Program Application Form.
- Three letters of recommendation or evaluation forms from faculty and/or other professional sources.
- Statement of Career Objectives.
- Resume. Candidates must demonstrate a two-year record of relevant, full-time employment in a professional or supervisory role, or equivalent. Applicants wishing to enter the program without the required two year-experience may request a waiver of the work experience requirement based on exceptional academic performance.
- Applicants whose undergraduate degree was instructed in other than English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and achieve minimum scores as required by the Office of International Education.

Requirements
(30 units minimum)
The Online Master of Business Administration is awarded upon satisfactory completion of 30 units of core and graduate elective courses and the passing of a comprehensive examination. Students must have completed the 18 units of foundation courses listed below or their equivalents. To be exempted from any or all foundation courses, equivalent undergraduate courses must have been completed with a grade of C or better. Exemptions from the foundation courses also can be obtained by passing the corresponding qualifying examination.

Note:
Online MBA Core and elective units must be earned within seven years immediately preceding the completion of requirements for the degree. A 3.0 grade point average must be maintained in all graduate work.
Enrollment in Online MBA core and elective classes is limited to students with classified Online MBA standing at this University. Exceptions to this policy require written approval of the director of the Online MBA program.
The program’s culminating experience is comprised of a comprehensive examination.

Master of Business Administration students may satisfy the writing proficiency requirement by meeting the required level of proficiency in either of the following courses:
Finance Concentration
The Finance concentration is designed for those seeking employment or advancement in financial institutions, such as banks, brokerage firms, investment banking, consulting firms, insurance companies, credit unions, real estate firms or other institutions that make financial decisions. The three-course concentration is comprised of these elective courses:
Human Resource Management Concentration

The Human Resource Management concentration is designed for individuals seeking employment or advancement in the field of human resource management. Human resource professionals need extensive knowledge and skill across a broad range of HR disciplines. This concentration focuses on the strategic, operational, and administrative roles of human resource management; students acquire critical knowledge and skills to effectively manage the dynamic challenges facing their most important organizational asset: humans.
Digital and Social Media Marketing Concentration
