The Food Industry is one of the largest employers in the region with a huge variety of opportunities. Food safety is crucial to the food industry and to the consumers who depend on it. Students interested in a career in the food industry will find opportunities, especially within the area of Food Safety. 

Students who earn a Biological Sciences B.S.  and who complete the following courses (an appropriate prerequisites) will have broad training in areas related to Food Safety.  Complete the following courses:

Biology students interested in pursuing training in Food Safety should select a concentration in Molecular and Microbial Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
