Four units of CR-graded coursework in courses graded exclusively CR/NC may apply toward the major. 4. Completion of a minor is recommended but not required.

The Major
(32 units minimum) Complete a minimum of 32 upper-division units distributed as follows:
1. Complete at least 3 units from each of the following areas:
a. Complete one Cultural/Social course
b. Complete one Environmental course
c. Complete one Geospatial Technology course
d. Complete one Globalization and Development course
e. Three units of Professional Development

2. Complete at least one concentration and meet the 32-unit requirement
a. Cultural/Social Geography
Complete a minimum of 9 units. b. Physical Geography & Environmental Studies
Complete a minimum of 9 units. c. Geospatial Technology
Complete a minimum of 9 units. d. Global Studies and Development
Complete a minimum of 9 units. e. California Studies
Complete a minimum of 9 units. If needed select geography electives to complete a total of at least 32 units per advisement.
