The Agriculture Minor allows non-agriculture majors to complete relevant agriculture coursework at the lower division (community college agriculture courses) and upper division (Agriculture Core Courses) to improve their knowledge in agriculture and related issues. Students enroll in the minor program based on their interest in agricuture and/or a desire to expand their career options in a region rich in a agricultural diversity and occupational opportunities.

Requirements
To qualify for this academic minor, students must complete the required number of units with a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C).
(18 units minimum)
Upper Division Agriculture Core
(a minimum of 12 units from 4 of 5 areas)
1. Methodology/Technology of Agriculture
2. Physical/Biological Aspects of Agriculture
3. Business/Economics of Agriculture
4. Agriculture Policy and Regulations
5. Labor/Personnel Management in Agriculture
Lower Division Transfer Core
(2 courses, a minimum of 6 units from the following)
- Principles of Animal Science, 3 units
- Principles of Plant Science, 3-4 units
- Soil Science, 3-4 units
- Agricultural Economics, 3 units
- Computers in Agriculture, 3 units
Substitutions may be approved by adviser. |
