Departments in the School of the Arts

The School of the Arts is home to three nationally accredited progressive pre-professional and liberal arts programs offering intensive study in Music, Theatre, and the Visual Arts. Curricular programming in the School of the Arts balances professional practice and theory embracing global perspective in the Arts in applied and traditional areas of study. The focus on excellence across all three disciplines provides the region and the state with superior and fulfilling visual and performing arts degree programs.

Accreditation

Accreditation is a voluntary quality assurance process that assists institutions in developing and maintaining the highest educational standards. Since 1963, Stanislaus State has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In addition, each college has earned accreditation for individual programs.

The Art, Music, and Theatre programs are accredited by, respectively, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), and the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).
