AGST 5570 - Agriculture Program Development and Administration

This course provides an in-depth study of program planning, leadership, and community engagement in agricultural education, with emphasis on curriculum design, integration of Future Farmers of America (FFA) and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) activities, program accountability, and career development. Students analyze and apply strategies to strengthen agricultural programs through innovative fundraising, advisory committees, industry partnerships, and experiential learning. Major assignments include reflective writing, a comprehensive fundraising proposal, and a career development workshop plan. This course directly aligns with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) standards and is a required component of the Agricultural Specialist Credential Program at Stanislaus State.

By the end of this course, candidates will be able to:

1. Analyze agricultural education content by designing sequenced instructional programs, integrating FFA and SAE components, and guiding students in career and project planning;
