AGST 3600 - Program Development and Management in Agricultural Education

Introduces program development and management in agricultural education, covering teacher duties, integrated approaches, philosophy, organization, administration, curriculum development, and credential preparation requirements for agricultural education teachers and professional certification standards.  Note: Open to Agricultural Major students only. Designed specifically for future teachers in agriculture.

Course Learning Outcomes List
Students will be able too: 

  1. Define the requirements for a career in Agricultural Education (PLO #1); 
  2. Plan and organize instruction units for agriculture topics (PLO #3); 
  3. Apply effective teamwork strategies (PLO #4); 
  4. Practice managing a diverse student population (PLO #4); 
  5. Utilize strategies in the classroom to influence student learning positively (PLO #1); and, 
  6. Apply skills in individualized assessment, instructional planning, and decision-making prior to student teaching (PLO #2).
