CDEV 2000 - Children, Families, and Community3 unit(s) Introduction to the examination of the developing child (birth - adolescence) in a societal context focusing on the interrelationship of family, school and community and emphasizing historical and socio-cultural factors. The processes and theories of socialization will be highlighted, discussing the importance of respectful, reciprocal relationships between children, families, schools, and community resources that support and empower families.
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will be able to:
- Identify individual, familial, and community factors as they relate to children’s development. (PLO 1)
- Describe strategies for engaging and supporting children in different contexts. (PLO 1)
