ETHS 4560 - Chicano/a/x - Latino/a/x Theatre3 unit(s) An overview of Chicano/a/x-Latino/a/x theatre and performance. Students will read, watch, discuss, and perform a reader’s theatre on various plays written by Chicano/a/xs-Latino/a/xs. In addition to learning about theatrical aesthetics, forms, and practices, the course focuses on critical and cultural themes that are central to the course material. Satisfies G.E. area UD-3 and the Sociocultural Inquiry Requirement.
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will be able to:
- Identify problems that impact Chicano/a/x-Latino/a/x populations through regional, national, and/or global contexts (PLO #2);
- Critique cultural, intellectual, and artistic ideas and work (PLO #4); and,
- Demonstrate awareness of social change through the analysis, creation, and/or performance of plays (PLO #3).
