LEAD 2500 - Introduction to Leadership3 unit(s) Leadership Development Introductory course to acquaint first year students to leadership theories that examine the nature of leadership within the context of self, other and circumstances on a local and global context. Emphasis is placed on leadership development through interactive learning.
Satisfies G.E. area 4B Human Institutions, Societies and Cultures
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will be able to:
- Apply leadership concepts and theories to relevant leadership models and research finding to leadership practices in real-world and case-based scenarios (GE 1.3) with PLO #1 Leadership Foundations - Theories and Research
- Demonstrate the ability to build salient links between leadership and various aspects of communication, power, trust, ethics, diversity and inclusivity among various structures and institutions that frame human interactions (GE 2.3) with PLO #3 Leadership Communication.
- Articulate their personal leadership philosophy and the values that inform them (GE 3.2) with PLO #2 Leadership Development.
