MDIS 4975 - Portfolio Practicum1 unit(s) A capstone portfolio course in which we will consider the relationship of the artist to his/her work. Course will emphasize individual investigation and discovery through collaborative projects that cross disciplines within the Creative Media degree (journalism, visual design, marketing, film and video, etc.). Students will develop their ideas into a fully articulated professional portfolio showing originality, conviction and quality. Each student will be required to actually create and submit three application packets to three different types of organizations of their choice.
Prerequisites: Senior standing in the Creative Media program.
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will:
- Critically analyze personal work and the field of creative media;
- Demonstrate understanding of historical and contemporary influences of culture in the field of creative media;
- Create portfolio projects which incorporate the fundamental elements and principles of design and selection of media appropriately suited to express issues such as content and subject matter (Art B.A. PLO#5);
- Demonstrate a variety of discipline appropriate methods to integrate into a multimedia portfolio, determine the strategies that would be necessary to produce it;
- Constructively evaluate and the critique the work of others as well as their own work;
- Produce work that demonstrates creative thinking in order to express a personal vision/point of view.
