AGEC 3350 - Agriculture Markets and Pricing3 unit(s) The course is an introductory course focused on the economics of markets in agriculture and related industries. The course will also introduce marketing aspects of the agricultural industry and an overview of the structure and institutional aspects of both domestic and global marketing systems.
Hours: (Lecture, 2 hours; activity, 2 hours)
Course Learning Outcomes List Student will be able to:
- Explain issues in the food industry and in agricultural markets utilizing economic theory;
- Identify what makes agricultural markets unique from others;
- Analyze price determination and price variation in an agricultural market;
- Assess and report on marketing options available to individual agricultural firms; and,
- Demonstrate and apply their knowledge of interdependency of agricultural producers, marketers, and consumers.
