PHYS 2110 - Basic Physics II4 unit(s) Continuation of PHYS 2100. Electricity and magnetism, light, optics, atoms, and nuclei.
Satisfies G.E. area 5A and 5C.
Prerequisites: PHYS 2100 with a grade of C- or better.
Hours: (Lecture, 3 hours; laboratory, 3 hours)
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will:
- Develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in the analysis of problems in physics;
- Achieve a conceptual understanding of the fundamental laws of physics, and how they can be used to describe the world around us;
- Be able to use laboratory equipment to collect data with the goal of experimentally verify the laws of physics; and,
- Be able to work and communicate collaboratively and effectively in a small laboratory group.
