MUS 3350 - Jazz Techniques for Music Educator

Prerequisites: Consent of instructor.

Course Learning Outcomes List
Students in this course will: Gain a basic knowledge of jazz repertoire for large and small ensemble; Be able to use a variety of rehearsal techniques; Understand the jazz style, including phrasing and articulation, through a study of significant recordings; Gain knowledge of the significant jazz musicians and their output; and Demonstrate the aural tradition of the music by teaching repertoire and concepts by ear.
