MGT 3400 - International Business3 unit(s) (Formerly MGT 3020) A comprehensive course covering the international environmental forces and their influence in all of the functional areas of the international firm - finance, management, marketing, personnel, production, the multinational’s ethical responsibility to the host countries, balance of payments, foreign exchange risk hedging strategies, and international accounting.
Prerequisites: MGT 3310.
Course Learning Outcomes List The purpose of this course is:
- To explain the basis for international trade and investment;
- To describe the mechanism of international payments and foreign exchange markets;
- To expose the student to the unique problems and opportunities associated with conducting business operations in a multinational setting;
- To examine all major aspects of the foreign environment relevant to corporate strategy formulation;
- To explore the impact of global involvement on the multinational corporation and its host and home countries; and
- To suggest an ethical framework for conducting business globally.
