MATH 3400 - Introduction to Proofs

(Formerly Set Theory and Logic) Reading, writing, and understanding mathematical proofs.  Topics include set theory, logic, proof structures, relations, functions, and mathematical induction.  Written communication of mathematical ideas will be emphasized.

Satisfies upper-division writing proficiency requirement.

Prerequisites: MATH 1420 with a grade of C- or better.

Hours: Lecture, 4 hours.
