LIBS 4960 - Senior Seminar3 unit(s) Senior Seminar is a capstone course in which students reflect on the nature and extent of their liberal arts education and its intersection with TK-12 teaching. In this course, students demonstrate knowledge of subject matter concepts, educational theory, and lesson planning. Course is intended for the final semester of the Liberal Studies major.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of LIBS 3200.
Course Learning Outcomes List Through this course, students will:
- Articulate knowledge of educational theories and concepts learned in subject matter courses (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5);
- Reflect on LIBS experience through oral and written assignments (PLO 2, 4, 5); and,
- Understand the lesson planning process, including the interaction of California Content Standards/learning goals, assessment, and learning activities that support higher order thinking skills (PLO 1, 2, 4).
