Prerequisites: Completion of G.E. area 1A.

Course Learning Outcomes List
Students will gain:
1. Understanding of the major trends of American literary history from the beginnings to 1865 (PLO #4);

2. Familiarity with major texts in American literature to 1865 (PLO#2); and,

3. Ability to apply critical analysis to literary and historical questions in American literature to 1865 (PLO #3).
