CJ 4925 - Historical and Contemporary Criminal Justice3 unit(s) Explores American criminal justice system from its historical roots through its current structure. Discusses critical and controversial current issues within our criminal justice system.
Prerequisites: CJ 2250 and CJ 2280, or consent of instructor.
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the historical roots of criminal justice (PLO #1, 2, 4, 5);
- Discuss critical and controversial issues within the criminal justice system (PLO #1, 6);
- Demonstrate an understanding of the political forces that affect the current state of criminal justice (PLO #4, 6); and,
- Demonstrate an ability to work with a group to develop and present a scholarly paper and an annotated bibliography (PLO #3).
