CJ 3600 - Juvenile Corrections4 unit(s) In-depth exploration of the various components of youth corrections.
Prerequisites: CJ 2250 and CJ 2280, or consent of instructor.
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will be able to:
1. Understand the various components of the juvenile correctional system;
2. Articulate the philosophies and practice of the juvenile system, particularly in California;
3. Describe the differences between the juvenile and adult systems;
4. Recognize the weaknesses and challenges of the juvenile correctional system; and
5. Obtain experience and insight in mentoring at-risk youth.
