CJ 3120 - Causes of Crime3 unit(s) Analysis of crime causation provides students the opportunity to form critical thinking by presenting them with current theories and research and competing viewpoints in human criminality. Students will also be exposed to information on diversity, use of technology, and policy in criminal justice.
Prerequisites: CJ 2250 and CJ 2280, or consent of instructor.
Course Learning Outcomes List By completing this course, students will:
• Obtain a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of crime causation;
• Obtain a thorough and comprehensive understanding on various criminal behaviors;
• Perform critical thinking on essential issues such as diversity, use of technology, and policy in criminal justice;
• Perform a comprehensive theoretical analysis on human criminality; and
• Based on the theoretical analysis provide treatment/punishment recommendation for the offender.
