Basic chemistry of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. An introduction to enzymology and biochemical thermodynamics is also included.

Prerequisites: CHEM 3020 with a C- or better.

• Amino acids, peptides and protein;

• Protein structure and the relationship between structure and function;

• Enzyme kinetics and mechanisms;
