BIOL 5990 - Thesis3-6 unit(s) (Formerly Master’s Thesis) Preparation, completion, oral defense, and submission of an acceptable thesis for the master’s degree.
Prerequisites: Open only to graduate students with consent of student’s graduate adviser. (1.5 hours of supervision per week per student)
Course Learning Outcomes List A student who successfully completes this course will have the knowledge and skill to:
1. Follow through with the many steps required to complete a significant academic product, including data collection, analysis and synthesis, and evaluation and organization of information from multiple sources;
2. Contribute to the knowledge base of the student’s area of interest;
3. Demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills, and values appropriate to their discipline;
4. Demonstrate the ability to be crative, analytical, and critical thinkers;
5. Demonstrate advanced oral and written communication skills, complemented, as appropriate to the discipline; and
