ART 1000 - Introduction to Studio Art3 unit(s) (Formerly Introduction to Drawing) Introduces global visual art traditions and their role as a form of communication across cultures and time. Examines key practices in drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and ceramics, highlighting art as a means of personal, societal, and cultural expression. This course fulfulls the Baccalaureate Degree Requirements for life-long learning under artistic practice - students will enhance their engagement with creative, expressive, and interpretive practices.

Hours: Laboratory 6 hrs
Course Learning Outcomes List Students will be able to:
- CLO1: Define art and design elements & principles. (PLO1)
- CLO2: Illustrate the various media approaches ranging from drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and ceramics. (PLO1, PLO2)
- CLO3: Solve a variety of media specific problems through assignments and projects. (PLO1, PLO2, PLO3, PLO4)
- CLO4: Analyze the art of the past and present. (PLO1, PLO2, PLO6)
- CLO5: Evaluate their own work and the work of their peers. (PLO3, PLO4)
- CLO6: Create a series of culminating projects using a variety of media covered. (PLO4, PLO5, PLO6)
