(Selected Topics in Communication Studies) Documentary media stand as a quintessential embodiment of public communication and media. In this course, we will approach documentary as a genre of rhetorical discourse designed to influence modes of being, knowing, and acting. We will approach the mediated texts through the lens of rhetorical criticism and theory to analyze documentaries on major social issues, problems, and solutions alongside their strategic communication campaigns and online presence.
