EDSE 5210 - Advanced Literacy Methods in Special Education: Elementary (TK- 6)4 unit(s) This course provides comprehensive, research-based instruction in reading and language arts, emphasizing culturally responsive, inclusive, and equity-minded practices. Students will learn to design and deliver effective, accessible lessons that honor diverse student backgrounds, needs, and strengths. They will develop skills in assessment, data-driven instruction, and critical reflection to foster equitable learning environments and improve student outcomes. This course equips future educators to confront systemic barriers, promote social justice, and create inclusive classrooms that empower all learners.
This course will be required for the new Masters of Arts in Teaching Program
Prerequisites: EDGS 5510 Intro to Educational Research
