EDMS 5110 - Advanced Reading Methods5 unit(s) This course equips educators with research-based strategies for effective K-8 reading/language arts instruction, emphasizing English Language Development and equity for all students. We’ll explore culturally responsive teaching, phonics, grammar, and spelling while fostering a love of reading through inclusive literature and motivation. By aligning with California standards and focusing on the five key themes, we’ll ensure accessible, equitable instruction for all. Through data-driven assessment and anti-racist practices, we’ll prepare candidates to create inclusive learning environments that support every student’s literacy development.
This course will meet the requirements of the Master of Arts in Teaching
Prerequisites: EDGS 5510 - Introduction to Educational Research (3 units)
