EDMS 5121 - Advanced Mathematics Methods3 unit(s) This course equips educators with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach mathematics in grades TK-6. We’ll delve into teaching strategies, lesson design, and material selection, emphasizing culturally responsive and inclusive approaches. You’ll learn to create equitable, safe, and inclusive learning environments, design accessible lessons aligned with state standards, and utilize data to inform instruction. By fostering a deep understanding of social/racial justice and equity, you’ll be empowered to create inclusive classrooms that celebrate the diverse backgrounds and strengths of all students.
This new course will meet the requirements of the newly proposed Master of Arts in Teaching Program.
Prerequisites: EDGS 5510 - Introduction to Educational Research (3 units)
