EDSE 5470 - Advanced Methods for Teaching Students with Mild-Moderate Support Needs3 unit(s) Advanced Seminar in Mild/Moderate Disabilities This course delves into the characteristics and needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities. It emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive, inclusive, and equitable practices in designing and delivering instruction. Candidates will explore strategies for creating inclusive learning environments, adapting curriculum and instruction, and using data-driven decision-making to support the diverse needs of all students. Additionally, the course will examine the role of research in informing and improving teaching practices, particularly for historically marginalized groups.
This course will satisfy the requirements for newly proposed Masters of Arts in Teaching.
Prerequisites: EDGS 5510 Intro to Educational Research
