The Asian American Experience Course examines how Asian American and Pacific Islander studies emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s during an intensified political context in the U.S. and around the world. Students, faculty, and community members organized to improve their realities, which included establishing and institutionalizing the field in higher education.
