CIS 4720 - Database Management Systems3 unit(s) The design and implementation of databases utilizing a commercial database management system (DBMS) from the business systems analyst’s point of view. This course provides background for the intelligent selection and use of DBMS. Topics include functions of database administration, conceptual database design using entity-relationship diagram (ERD), database integrity rules, normalization, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
Prerequisites: CIS 2020 or one semester of another programming language.
Hours: (Lecture, 2 hours; activity, 2 hours)
