ART 4565 - African Art3 unit(s) This course is an overview of the arts and visual cultures of Africa, ranging from ancient architecture, modern photography and contemporary installation art. It is also an introduction to the methods and vocabulary of the discipline of art history and considers the challenges and politics of interpreting African arts in our current globalizing world.
Satisfies G.E. area UD-3 and Sociocultural Inquiry Requirement.
Prerequisites: ART 2520 or ART 2525 or ART 2530 or permission of instructor.
