Prepare teacher candidates to create developmentally appropriate, culturally and linguistically responsive learning environments that emphasize: establishing a positive climate, building caring and respectful relationships, nurturing children’s unique identities, assets, and social and emotional profiles, intentionally implementing research-based effective classroom management strategies and that foster and include partnerships with families/guardians. Teacher candidates will also work towards demonstrating professional responsibility for children’s learning outcomes, privacy, health, and safety.

Open to Early Childhood Education Credential (ECEC) majors only.

Prerequisites: Admission to Early Childhood Education Credential (ECEC) program.
