EDEL 9017 - Proseminar On Contemporary Issues for Educational Leadership

1 unit(s)
Recognize how to manage specific critical scenarios confronted as leaders in an educational organization. Students will identify key factors that contribute to organizational success (e.g., student learning, teacher retention, job satisfaction, effective use of resources) and the role they can play in helping the organization be successful. Students will work collaboratively with peers and the class instructor to analyze critical cases by using their work experiences, policies and regulations, and research-based knowledge. Course is based on the premise that educational leaders confront opportunities and challenges daily, and it is their responsibility to recognize and make the most of these opportunities. Course aims to develop effective leaders who develop an in-depth understanding of how educational organizations work and how to work with and through other people to address specific educational issues. Course may be repeated for a total of 12 units. Open to Graduate Students only.

Prerequisites: Admission to the Ed.D. Program.
