Course will focus on a particular period in American literary history (Colonial Literature, Literature of the New Republic, Depression-Era Literature, Turn-into-the-20th Century Literature, Mid-Twentieth Century, Contemporary Literature, etc. May be repeated once, if topic is different, for credit. Specific topics assigned by the instructor.

Prerequisites: Graduate Standing or consent of the English Graduate Coordinator.
