ENGL 5550 - Seminar in British Literature - Genres

Course will focus on a particular genre emerging from the canons of British Literature. Topics may include Tragedy, Comedy, Satire, Melodrama, Travel Writing, Fantasy/Science Fiction, The Epic, The Bildungsroman, and so on. Genre courses may also focus on particular subgenres of British Literature: Theatre of the Absurd or The Tudor History Play, for example. May be repeated once, if topic is different, for credit. Specific topics assigned by the instructor.

Prerequisites: Graduate Standing or consent of English Graduate Coordinator.
