MUS 4551 - Secondary Instrumental Methods and Materials3 unit(s) Course integrates formal knowledge in the university classroom with field experiences in order to prepare pre-service music educators to teach instrumental music students in K-12 school settings. To accomplish this, students will discuss topics such as music pedagogy, rote and note teaching, comprehensive musicianship, error detection, appropriate literature, music technology, and administrative tasks in a classroom setting and then apply these concepts to a field experience setting.
Prerequisites: MUS 3270 and consent of the instructor.
