Emphasis on national and California state mandates, curriculum development, assessment practices for the music education, and current trends in education. Provides music education majors an overview of the total school music program. May be repeated for a total of 4 units.

Satisfies upper division writing proficiency requirement.

Prerequisites: Consent of credential adviser and instructor.
