MATH 4530 - Abstract Algebra3 unit(s) An introduction to the development of the algebraic structures that arise in mathematics and their applications. Topics will be selected from groups, rings, integral domains, fields, and selected applications.
Prerequisites: MATH 2410, 2530, 3400, and six additional upper-division units in mathematics and/or computer science with grades of C- or better (other than MATH 3030, 3040, 3050, 3350, 4020, 4022, or CS 4000), or consent of instructor.
