CIS 4720 - Database Management Systems3 unit(s) The design and implementation of computer-based databases utilizing a commercial database management system from the business systems analyst’s point of view. Provides background for the intelligent selection and use of database management systems. Topics include discussion of types of available systems, functions of database administration, conceptual database design, data independence integrity, privacy, and query. The student will design and implement a database utilizing a database management system.
Prerequisites: CIS 2020 or one semester of another programming language.
Hours: (Lecture, 2 hours; activity, 2 hours)
